Thankful | Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Lovelies!

Happy Thanksgiving! Instead of my usual beauty post, this week I just want to spend some extra time being thankful.

With all the unfortunate recent events in Paris and all over the world, let’s take a moment to say a prayer for who were lost in those tragic incidents and be thankful for what we have.

I’m so thankful for my other half, family and good friends in my life who are supportive and loving. So thankful for always having food on the table and going to bed with a full belly. So thankful for a warm home and being sheltered from the cold. Mostly, so thankful for each and every day.

We’re so busy and focused with our crazy lives that we forget to slow down and appreciate the people and things we have. No matter how mundane each day feels, each day earned is another opportunity to seize. We should live every day to the fullest and be appreciative!

Give extra hugs and kisses to those important in your life. Eats lots, have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving holiday!

Reviews | Masks from Skinfood, Shangpree, & Innisfree

Today I want to share my current obsessions, Skinfood’s Black Sugar Honey Mask Washoff, Shangpree’s Gold Black Pearl Eye Mask and Innisfree’s Eco Science Eye Mask.

Let’s start off with the Black Sugar Honey Mask Washoff by Skinfood (Find here). First, this product completely surprised me! If you haven’t already heard of them, Skinfood is a Korean cosmetic and skin care line that incorporates natural food ingredients into their products. Their products are very natural, affordable, and smells good enough to eat!

I’ve seen this mask promoted in the window display of Skinfood many times however I never gave it much thought until I received some samples upon purchasing their sheet masks. (Will talk about sheet masks in another review)

The consistency is very gooey but don’t let that scare you. Remember to shake up the mask to fully incorporate all the layers together. Apply a nice thin layer to face while gently rubbing in the black sugar in circular motions.

I’m seriously drooling EVERY time I apply this mask on. The honey and black sugar smells spectacular! I always have to keep reminding myself to not eat it :) Keep the mask on for 10-15 minutes and gently wash off with lukewarm water with a washing cloth.I also like to use a small amount of cleanser afterwards to wash off any remaining residue. It’s optional and totally up to you!

After using this mask, my face feels so nice and baby soft. The black sugar gently exfoliates your skin without being too abrasive, as many other types of exfoliating beads can. I definitely recommend using this once a week to get rid of dead skin and keeping your face fresh.

Moving on to eyes! I don’t know about you guys, but I have dark puffy under eye circles. It’s been a problematic thing for me since I was a kid. I’m always on the prowl for eye products that will help brighten and zap these under eye circles.

Let’s get into these fantastic Eco Science Eye Mask by Innisfree (Find here)

My mom brought these eye mask back from Asia and I just LOVE them! They are super delicate and have gel-like consistency. The scent is very light and pleasant. It gives a nice cooling and tingly sensation (doesn’t hurt) and feels extremely soothing. I like to apply these after cleansing and applying my toner, then I leave them on for 20-30 minutes.

These mask have extracts from sea plants of Jeju island, they have anti-wrinkle properties and claims to help regenerate delicate skin around your eyes.

After I take them off, my under eyes feels refreshed and instantly brighter. I recommend using them at least once a week along with your regular eye cream routine to see results. They are a bit pricey, $4 US per pair but compared to many other high end lines like Tatcha and SKII these are far more affordable.

Another eye mask that I’ve been loving is the Gold Black Pearl Eye Mask by Shangpree. (Find here)

I found these while researching for new eye masks to add to my collection and after using these for a couple weeks, I’m completely sold! These eye masks are made of hydrogel and is soaked in a essence that is full of minerals and amino acids. They don’t easily dry up and retain all the moisture.

(It comes with a spatula to scoop out the eye mask to stay hygienic)

The gel mask is infused with gold and black pearl to help battle your fine lines/wrinkles while brightening your eyes by making it look youthful. It has a light flowery and citrus aroma.

I use this once a week for about 30 minutes and gently pat in the remaining essence after I take them off. Remember to follow with your fave eye cream.! Like the Innisfree eye mask I definitely noticed my eyes are less puffy and brighter in the morning after usage. These are $60 US for 60 pieces, but you get what you definitely get what you pay for.

I hope this was helpful for those who are new to facial and eye masks. Please remember to share your questions/comments and to give this post a thumbs up!

Skincare Routine

Hey Lovelies~ Happy Wednesday!

Can you believe the week is almost over? Today, I want to share my daily skincare routine with you guys, especially since the weather is getting cold! Time to take care of that skin (all year round’ but especially in the winter!)

Whether you are in your teens, twenties, or thirties it’s extremely important to take care of your skin. TRUST me, start early and your skin will appreciate it later! I used various drugstore toners and moisturizers in my teens and eventually tried different brands while incorporating additional steps to my beauty routine as I moved into my early twenties and mid-twenties.

Taking care of your skin doesn’t always have to be expensive. It’s just the matter of finding the right products that suit your skin type. First you need to determine whether your skin is normal, dry, sensitive, oily, combination oily or mix of these. Remember that your skin can change overtime and it’s important to monitor how your skin reacts whenever you use or try a new product.

My skin is combination oily with all the oils concentrated in my T-zone. My face is extremely sensitive and prone to breakouts. If you’re like me, I suggest you get lots of samples prior to buying new products and stick with light water based products. (Also, make sure your products are paraben free)

My morning/night-time skincare routine:

(Products from left to right: Laneige Balancing Emulsion, CremorLab Mineral Treatment Essence, Laneige Power Essential Skin Toner)

Step 1, CLEANSE:  I use my Rice Water Brightening Cleansing Foam by Face Shop to cleanse morning/night. (find here)

Step 2, TONER: I pour a few drops of my Power Essential Skin Toner by Laneige (find here) into my hands and gently pat into my skin. (Don’t forget your neck!)

Step 3, ESSENCE: I pour a few drops of my Mineral Treatment Essence by CremorLab (find here) into my cotton pad and gently apply to my face. Swiping from the center and out for my forehead and cheeks, down my nose, left and right for my chin, and applying using an upwards motion for the neck area.

Essence is an essential step. It moisturizes and removes dead skin cells, leaving your face feeling clean.

Step 4, EYE CREAM: Using my ring finger I dab a bit of my Water Bank Eye Gel by Laneige (find here) and gently swipe (in a windshield motion) and tap the product onto my dark circles. I also apply on top of my lids.

Step 5, MOISTURIZE: For daytime, I like to use my Power Essential Balancing Emulsion (find here) as my light moisturizer. It helps neutralizes my oil and prep my face for makeup without putting too much product on my face.

SUN PROTECTION (Daytime routine only)

I spread a thin layer of my oil-free sunscreen by Shiseido (find here) on my face before applying my makeup. Another step that many people tend to neglect, but please remember to protect your skin from harmful UV rays!

For night-time, I use my Water Bank Moisture Cream (find here) to give my face additional moisture as the winds and sun can take a toll on my skin.

My cheeks get cracked and starts peeling in the winter time due to harsh winds. When this happens, I like to use my Moisture Surge Intense moisturizer by Clinique (find here) to repair all the wind damage. Usually after one or two application my skin is repaired without breaking out.

Remember to take good care of your skin regardless of what age you are. Don’t feel pressured to follow all these steps right off the bat. Start by finding a few products that best suit your skin and over time add additional steps.

If you wear makeup, remember to properly cleanse your face at the end of the day. Don’t go to bed with all your makeup on! Here is an older post on my fave makeup cleansers.

I hope this post was helpful, remember to give it a thumbs up and leave your comments :)

Sulwhasoo Evenfair Perfecting Cushion Review

Hi Lovelies!

Happy Wednesday~ Here’s another Korean beauty product review for you guys! Today I’ll be reviewing Sulwhasoo’s Evenfair Perfecting Cushion. I’m sure you’ve all heard the rage about BB cushions but for those who haven’t, BB cushion is a foundation that many popular Korean brands have created. Ex: Iope, Banila Co, Hera, Laneige, etc.) They usually have high SPF coverage, this one has SPF 50+, anti-aging, whitening, and moisturizing properties. Sulwhasoo is also known for their skincare line and the brand is considered on the higher end. (Costs $60 US dollars) Since I’ve heard so many great things about this specific BB cushion, I was so excited to give it try!

Sulwhasoo EVENFAIR Perfecting Cushion in No. 23 (Medium Beige) – Find it here.

It comes in a small compact (travel size friendly) with a full size mirror, a puff, product, and a refill in an air-tight seal. I love the packaging idea and the fact you can pop the refills in and out so you don’t have to buy another compact each time. (Money Saver!:))

It comes in shade 21 (Medium Pink), 23 (Medium Beige), and 25 (Deep Beige). Though my box doesn’t mention shade 21 (Light Pink) this is definitely available if you’re a lighter shade. (Find it here)

(Left photoI’m using shade no. 23 in medium beige) (Right photo: Product on left unblended, on right blended)

Initially the product looks more on the yellow side but once I blended it into my skin the color matched me pretty well.

I’ve used so many different products previously varying from CC creams, BB creams, loose powder/compact/liquid foundation you name it! What I love about this BB cushion is that is SO easy to apply. You simply take the puff push lightly into the sponge and start gently patting it on your face.

This product gives amazing coverage and is SUPER buildable. I start off with a little product and add more as I go. If you’re looking for a more natural coverage instead of patting the product tightly into your skin, I suggest using a gentle swiping motion as you are applying. It also has a nice light powdery scent which isn’t too overpowering.

The BB foundation gives a smooth and dewy look. When you first apply the product it may seem a bit wet and sticky but it eventually dries into a nice smooth satin finish.

Since the product was pretty high coverage I suggest using minimal concealer as it can cause the foundation to look cakey. Once you finish applying your base, set your makeup with some light loose powder with a large fluffy brush. (I use Tarte’s Smooth Operator)

I really love the coverage on this product and how fast it is to apply my makeup. I’ll be reviewing more of the top BB cushions out there for you guys soon~

Blog Revamp & Korean Cleanser Review

Hi lovelies! It’s been quite awhile since I’ve last posted. Apologies for being MIA for so long. This blog originally started as a fashion project in college, but after graduating and working these past few years, the blog was left in the dust and was temporarily put on hold. But I’m happy to announce that I am back and will be posting for you all regularly!! :)

The blog is also going under construction for a new look (Keep checking in to see the new look!) Here on out I will be reviewing different beauty products ranging from different price points.

Now let’s get started, shall we?!  I wanted to do a quick review for you guys on the makeup removers & cleaners I’ve been using this past month. Cleansing Balms, Cleansing Oil, and Rice Water Foaming Cleanser

Screen Shot 2015-10-26 at 3.37.20 PM

  1. Banila Co. Clean it Zero (Find it here)
  2. Innisfree – Green Tea Moisture Cleansing oil (Find it here)
  3. The Face Shop – Rice Water Bright Cleansing Foam (Find it here)
  4. The Face Shop – Pore Cleansing Oil (Find similar here)

I wear makeup daily and at the end of long day, I definitely want to take it all off! I’ve used all sorts of regular cleanser, cold creams, and makeup wipes until I discovered these cleansing oils & balms from a few of my favorite Korean brands.

Banila Co’s Clean it Zero, is a cleansing balm that is in a sherbet form. It comes with hygienic plastic spoon so you can scoop just the right amount of product you need. You simply rub the product between your fingers and apply it on your face to remove your foundation, eyeliner, you name it! I’ve heard so much about this product and it really did exceed my expectations.

It completely zaps all the makeup off your face leaving your skin feeling soft and fresh after you wash it off. It has a light strawberry scent which wasn’t a bit overpowering and was quite delightful on the face. I’ve been pretty excited to take off my makeup at the end since I started using this balm!

My second favorite product is Innisfree’s Green Tea Cleansing Oil. I love love love this product and it’s honestly on par with the Banila Co. cleansing balm! I received this as a gift and fell in love with it immediately. All you need a small pump of product in your hand, again you rub the oil between your hands and gently apply on your face in a circular motion. Once you’ve removed all your makeup, add water to your hands to turn the oil into a foaming cleanser. The green tea scent is also very light and refreshing.

Let’s move on to The Face Shop’s Rice Water Bright Cleansing Foam. (Even though I use a cleansing balm/or oil to remove my makeup, I usually like to wash my face again with a cleanser.) With this cleanser, a little goes a LOOOONG way. This tiny amount is seriously all you need~ With a little amount of water this cleanser causes serious foam!

I have combination oily skin and especially oily in my T-zone so this cleanser leaves my face feeling very clean and tight. My only complaint is the overpowering scent! I was slightly thrown off by the scent as it has a floral scent rather than a soft rice scent. In any case, it was a good product overall. I bought the large version for $20 US dollars.

My last product for today is the The Face Shop Pore Cleansing Oil. I have to admit I was extremely disappointed by this cleansing oil especially after trying the Innisfree one. The formula was a bit on the watery side as opposed to an oil consistency. Again, the cherry blossom scent was extremely overpowering and I felt it wasn’t as effective as I have to use 2-3 pumps of products to rub all my eye makeup off and the foam wasn’t as creamy when water was added. I would say, skip this one and try the Innisfree.

I hope this helps those of you who are looking for great makeup cleansers! What cleansers are you currently loving? Comment down below and give this post a thumbs up if you enjoyed this review.

Just in time for the NEW YEAR!

Hey everyone! It’s been quite some time since I’ve blogged. I apologize to those who still check my page or visit from time to time! 2012 was a very long year…The best quote for 2012 would be:  “When one door closes, another door opens”. Basically things happens, get over it! Anyway, with great friends/people in my life,  I was able to start 2013 fresh. And I must say it has been an AMAZING year so far. I hope 2013 has treated you all very well, if not 2014 will be get even better!

For this comeback post, I wanted to go over some of my December beauty product favs!

1. Urban Decay Eyeshadow – Moondust Collection – StarGazer (click here) & Space Cowboy (click here)

I love love Urban Decay’s packaging! It is always so sleek, colorful, and visually pleasing.

StarGazer (Left) and Space Cowboy (Right)

Urban Decay eyeshadows are known to be highly pigmented. These colors are great for this holiday season as they are also very glittery and sparkly.

Color Swatches – StarGazer (Left) and Space Cowboy (Right)

These shadows are awesome and can be used alone or paired with other colors in your shadow palette. I’m excited to use stargazer for the upcoming NYE. Space cowboy is a bit more natural and can be used as a natural shade for daytime. The shimmer is absolutely beautiful!

IMG_36052. Lioele Blooming Shimmer Pearl Base (Left) & Blooming Gloss in Flower Pink (Right)

Beautiful packaging with a cute princess carriage as their logo!

Lioele is one of my favorite Korean makeup brands, they have a HUGE range of products.

My long time favorite is their Blooming Shimmer Pearl Base. It is a very lightweight makeup primer. I’ve used many different department store primers in the past such as: Smashbox, Laura Mercier, and etc, but I’ve always come back to this one.

This primer smells SOO good, very fresh, and makes you feel really pretty. I have super sensitive and combination skin but the primer keeps my skin matte without making you washed out. The shimmer isn’t overpowering and it gives your skin a healthy glow. The most important part? This primer DOES NOT break me out! This shimmer pearl base can be used before applying your favorite foundation or applied as a highlighter after foundation.

Lioele blooming gloss in Flower pink is a natural pink gloss for your every day look. Wear alone or paired onto of lipstick. This lip gloss smells like fresh strawberries!!

3. Dolly Wink – Liquid Eyeliner in Black (Click Here)

Dolly wink is a Japanese makeup brands known for the line for eye makeups. I used to use pencil eyeliner religiously, but ever since I discovered Dolly Wink,  I am completely hooked!!

As you can see this liquid liner pen is extremely fine made for perfect precision. I used to avoid liquid eyeliners because I felt they were hard to use and control, but this pen gives you full control. It’s also easy to clean off if you make a boo-boo. Just simply take a cotton swab with some makeup remover or water to fix your mistake.

As you can see below, it is easy to create thin black lines. This will let you get extremely close to your eyelash line or waterline. IMG_3610Stay tuned as there will be more posts and the look of the blog will get revamped shortly :)

Hey all, as promised I’m back with some makeup hauls!

First off, I wanted to share my ALL TIME favorite eyeliner that I have been using for years. I’ve tried many brands from drugstore to expensive department store ones, but I’ve always found myself coming back to this particular one.

CoverGirl’s Perfect Point Plus in ONYX. I also picked up the espresso one since both of them are versatile for everyday.

CoverGirl Perfect Point Plus in ONYX & ESPRESSO (Find HERE)

I just drew a simple line for swatch references to show how easy it is to draw a straight line. This eyeliner is a bit more fallout and smudgeproof than most, which is why I love it so much. It is extremely easy to handle! This will be favorable for those who do not like liquid liners.

The smudger tip has a nice angle that is great for blending, smudging, and creating the perfect wing.

See how pigmented this liner is? It has the perfect consistency between a pencil and gel/creme.

The second item I hauled is Laura Mercier‘s Smooth Focus Pressed Setting Powder/Shine Control in MATTE TRANSLUCENT. (Find Here)

The packaging is very clean and sleek. I especially love the deep purple compact with teeny silver speckles.

I finally purchased this after reading multiple reviews on this product and I absolutely love it. It is everything everyone says it is. It absorbs all the oil on your face, keeping it matte without it looking cake-y or pasty.

Third item I hauled is L’Oreal‘s Infallible Eyeshadow in Midnight Blue. (Find Here)

This color is super pigmented and slightly glittery! I will swatch and do a look with this color soon.

To end this post, I ‘ll show you these two great colors I got from the nail store today. Essie‘s Sequin Sash & Zoya‘s Rica.

Zoya’s Rica is a pink coral leaning slightly more orange. I’m obsessed with this color for it’s perfect for spring/summer. Essie’s Sequin Sash is a nude/beige with silver specks, great for anytime of the year.

Have a good Monday everyone!

I hope you guys enjoyed the long post, I will be be back shortly with more goodies I’ve hauled. I cannot wait to show you my Michael Kor’s Carla Sandal. I will review those and more! =]
